Agro tourism is a subset of a larger industry called rural
tourism that includes resorts, off-site farmers' markets, non-profit
agricultural tours, and other leisure and hospitality businesses that attract
visitors to the countryside.
Agro tourism include:
- Outdoor
recreation (fishing, hunting, wildlife study, horseback riding).
- Educational
experiences (cannery tours, cooking classes, or wine tasting).
- Entertainment
(harvest festivals or barn dances).
- Hospitality
services (farm stays, guided tours or outfitter services).
- On-farm direct
sales (u-pick operations or roadside stands).

business of growing plants. It includes the cultivation of medicinal plants,
fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, herbs, sprouts, mushrooms, algae, flowers,
seaweeds and non-food crops such as grass and ornamental trees and plants.
